Study programmes

Department of Mathematics and Biomathematics guarantees one bachelor joint honours programme in Mathematics. This programme provide flexibility and variety of knowledge offered by a combination of two different subjects. For those who want to become high school teachers, there is a master programme “Mathematics for education”. These two study programmes are in Czech language. The Department offers a wide and unique variety of specialized lectures on mathematical modelling in biology.

Scientific activities

The Department, founded in 2007, focuses on research in Biomathematics. The modelling effort exploits mathematical methodologies based on evolutionary game theory, differential and difference equations, stochastic processes and rule-based computer simulations of interacting individuals.
